Dan Abrams’ position was that the skills taught in family and consumer sciences should be taught by parents. Robin Roberts, and others on the panel, stated that these skills need to be taught at home and at school. FACS teachers also appreciated Robin Roberts clarifying the name of our field (Family and Consumer Sciences) and supporting our content.
Producers of the show asked The American Association of Family and Consumer sciences (AAFCS) to provide an opportunity for Dan Abrams to visit a class. Taping occurred October 10, 2013, but the air-date has not been announced yet.
